Directories from the Past
Here are links to some directories listing residents of Candor in 1867, 1873, 1887 (from 1794), 1917, and 1933. Directories from those times often told where people lived, their occupation, and the number of children they had, so they might prove useful in tracing some of your ancestors.
When you go to the directory, if the Candor pages do not come up right away, go to the word Edit at the top of your page. Under Edit scroll down until you see the word Find. Leave your cursor on the word Find and another menu will appear to the right. In that menu, click on the word Find. A small search box will open on the right side of the webpage. If the word you typed in the box is anywhere in the article, it will tell you how many times the word is found. You can then use the down arrow to go to each of the words and read what is said there.
